2000年7月3日欧盟颁布户外使用的设备的噪声排放指令，指令号：2000/14/EC。指令颁布的目的是协调成员国的国家标准对噪声排放限值的设定，以及在生产阶段产品标识要求。

本指令适用于需采取噪音排放措施，及需在每台机械上均安装有显示其保证噪音水平标签的57种型号的户外设备。此外，该指令还为57种类型中的22种设定了噪音极限，对于有噪音极限的设备，还需有欧盟公告机构的参与。
